Our Timeless Color Scheme

When we designed our house, we wanted to make choices inside and out that were as timeless as possible. Things that would look in style enough now, but wouldn't go out of style any time soon. We wanted to design everything once and then let it stand the test of time so we don't feel caught up in needing to redecorate or replace fixtures. Rennovating spaces has been something we have spent a lot of time doing and don't get me wrong, we have really enjoyed it. But now we have a whole big farm with acres and animals to maintain so we have enough as it is to keep us busy. We want our home to be the refuge where we come after a hard day's work instead of being our hard day's work.

Choosing colors is not something we took lightly. You could say 'it's just paint", easy to redo almost any time you want. Which is true. But also a pain, especially on the exterior. So we spent a lot of time considering our options, as well as our inspiration souce - colonial and shaker-style homes. We settled on a warm beige for the exterior and an off-white for the interior, using the same color we painted outside for all trim and cabinetry inside the home.
